đ¸ The Art of Showing Up (Even When You Donât Feel Like It)
A Heart-to-Heart on Consistency
By Kerenh Winklepop

Letâs be honest â motivation is a flaky friend.
Some days sheâs right there, cheering you on with a latte in hand.
Other days? She ghosts you harder than your old situationship.
And yet⌠your goals are still tapping you on the shoulder. You still have dreams whispering, âHey, remember me?â This is where the real magic begins, not in the big bursts of inspiration, but in the quiet, almost boring act of showing up for yourself.
đ When Motivation Goes Missing (And the Guilt Creeps In)
You know that feeling, right? That deep sigh when you want to work on your blog, or finally start that digital product, but your brain says:
âLetâs scroll Pinterest and call it research. Youâre too tired, darling.â
Iâve been thereâfar too often. After long workdays and mom-life chaos, showing up feels like climbing Mount Everest barefoot.
But hereâs what I learned the hard way, and I truly want you to know this too:
Motivation doesnât create momentum. Momentum creates motivation.
The more I showed upâeven for just 10 minutesâthe more energy I found. And on days I didnât? My ideas stayed stuck in drafts⌠and sadly, so did my confidence.
As the author Louis L’Amour once wisely put it:
“I started walking and I never stopped. I never stopped because I realized that the act of writing is simply the act of walking, one foot in front of the other. It is a commitment of time, not an act of inspiration.”
It’s all about that simple, single step. The act of walking. The act of showing up.
đą The Gentle Power of âMicro-Actionâ
One thing motherhood (and blogging) has taught me is that life wonât wait for perfect timing.
So instead of chasing âbig leaps,â I started focusing on micro-actionsâthose gentle, 10% moments that move you forward quietly, without the pressure.
- Write one paragraph.
- Design one Pinterest pin.
- Reply to one email.
- Read one inspiring post instead of five.
These little wins may not look glamorous, but they are your quiet superheroes. They compound. Theyâre like tiny drops of waterâeach one small, but together they carve valleys of beautiful change in your life.
đ§ââď¸ When You Show Up, You Build Trust With Yourself
This is the most crucial part. Every time you show up, even imperfectly, you send a signal to your deepest self:
âI can count on me.â
Thatâs how confidence truly growsânot through perfection, but through reliability. You start trusting that even when things get messy or motivation disappears, you wonât abandon yourself.
And honestly? Thatâs the kind of quiet, unshakable power most people completely underestimate.
â My Real-Life âShow Up Anywayâ Days (Just for You)
Iâm not sharing this to sound heroic; Iâm sharing this because itâs real life.
- Iâve written blog posts half-asleep with a child on my lap.
- Iâve posted content while stirring soup.
- Iâve drafted product outlines in traffic jams (thank you, voice notes).
Not glamorous, but real. Because showing upâin any formâalways beats waiting for the perfect moment that never, ever comes.
đĄ How to Make Showing Up Easier (A Gentle Framework)
Hereâs what helped me stay consistent without burning out. Try one this week, okay?
- Anchor your habit to something daily. (e.g., Write right after your morning tea, not âsometime today.â Give it a dedicated slot!)
- Set a timer for 10 minutes. Youâll often keep going once you start, but if you don’t? That 10 minutes is a huge win.
- Celebrate the start, not the finish. You did the hardest partâyou began. Give yourself credit!
- Track your wins. Tiny progress = visible proof youâre moving forward. You are making progress, promise.
đ Remember This, Sweet Friend
You donât have to do it all today. You just have to show up today.
Even 10 minutes of messy effort builds more than 10 days of overthinking.
And if all you managed was to open your laptop, jot down a line, or brainstorm a new pin ideaâyouâve already won.
Because you didnât quit. You showed up.
And that, my friend, is where every beautiful comeback and dream-chase begins.
